Lisa Jameson aka Pepstar
was born in
Montreal, Canada in the 1960's. Her parents & siblings were from England. The family migrated to San Jose,
California in the early 1970's. Lisa now resides in Prescott Valley, AZ.
Lisa's family has strong artistic skills. She was blessed to
have been born with an active imagination and began drawing in the fourth grade
and continued through High School. At that time the doll collecting took a back seat
to the art. She was taking three art classes a day, drawing portraits in
pencil and ink. Lisa continued to
draw as she got older, mostly as a hobby and gifts for others. In the 1980's she
moved to the Los Angeles area and lived in Venice for 6 years. She dabbled in
painting denim vests and jackets, mainly animated characters.
Dolls were a big part of Lisa's life as a child. She collected mainly Barbies
throughout the years. She began
collecting Barbie dolls again while living in Venice, keeping them boxed and
displaying them new.
Lisa moved
back to San Jose in the early 1990's. Everything took a back seat at that time, while she looked for
work. She discovered Abode Photoshop, creating some interesting computer graphics
and photo manipulations. It wasn't until late 1998 that she began doll collecting again and this is
when she discovered the Tonner Fashion Dolls and began her doll painting project. Goodbye Barbie dolls.
In 2005 she discovered the world of Ball Joint Dolls. Again. After she received her first one, she was blown away. They became her new canvas and Lisa hasn't looked back. The rest is history as they say.
